Since the opening of our newest venture Sand Wells Outdoors we were able to have family out to hunt. I am so proud to say that we (I say this loosely since Jerry did most of the work) were a part of my nephews and cousins shooting of their first pheasant! Very exciting stuff indeed. I believe it is very important to make sure that our young be connected to nature.
I just found a great book by Richard Louv who is focused on nature, family and community. His most recent book, Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder,
has stimulated an international conversation about the future
relationship between children and nature, and has helped spawn a
movement that is now moving into the international sphere. (taken from his website)
It was also nice to have family come together that have not been in one spot in years. The reconnection of the younger generation was wonderful to witness.
Now if we can get some of the girls involved, my contentment level would be off the charts.
Way to go guys!!!
Have a Stellar Day
& Happy Hunting
